The point to draw all the covered aspects together in “Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence” is the desire of humankind to be perfect and powerful than they used to be.

Technology is a tool that people use to reach the world and knowledge they do not know, and create things they want. People fear about the world they do not know, but they get curious to know and show their power by conquer everything, include themselves. Like the technology people use for the doll in “Innocence”, people have to know what is life and human body first and all the “biology rules” for life to recreate people as doll. “People give the doll soul and the performance like human beings”, “but the doll still is a living human without soul” (Innocence). At the end of this film, we know that all the dolls get their soul/ghost from real children; this means the soul of human is not like the body which is easily copied. The desire of being powerful and perfect of people made them to recreate themselves as perfect designed dolls with their soul in them. The desires of people being powerful give their motions of developing the technology.

The mortality is the end of people’s life and also the end of desire; “People die because they cannot get out from the fate of death” (Innocence). People always get the fear of death because they do not know what is in death and what death means. Kim said the animals are perfect than human because they do not have self-awareness, this means people think more power they get more perfect they are. But the truth is the value of life is not to damage life or live an unlimited life, animals do not have intent, but they know there have to be an end of life, while people just do not want to believe that and try to mechanized themselves to extend their life. The death is the end of people’s life and should also be the end of desire, but people never end to break this rule.

Idealism is also a big part in the “Innocence”, after Batou and Togusa visit Kim, Batou told Togusa that his thoughts was invaded by Kim’s computer, and ask him “are your wife and daughter waiting at your home exist” “or you just sitting in a room doing a dream of having a family” (Innocence). Sometimes it is hard to say what is true, people want to know the truth, and what they see or touch maybe not real, all the judgment are made through the mankind’s thoughts, so the idealism of people controlled their desire of being perfect. Man can made whatever they want to improve their ability, no matter flying in the sky or diving under water. Batou said “fact is the standard of judging a truth”, and also he do not think it is necessary for Togusa to figure out whether he is single or not, because people all living in their own world, they all think things idealized to get the joy of satisfied their desires.
